Jacob Gaboury is an Assistant Professor of Film & Media at the University of California, Berkeley. His work engages the seventy-year history of digital images, inquiring at those material technologies that shape and limit the ways we have come to reproduce and remake the visible world through computation. His forthcoming book with MIT Press is titled Image Objects, and it explores a prehistory of computer graphics in the twenty year period prior to their emergence in popular visual culture.
